Dyneema® made for:
Fabrics for the great outdoors
Our flexible composite fabrics are the ultimate in lightweight strength and water resistance. Found in tents, packs and bags. Adding Dyneema® to woven fabrics supports the creation of strong, durable apparel, backpacks, bags, luggage and footwear. Mesh fabrics made with Dyneema® also have outstanding breathability and abrasion resistance, as well as ultra-low weight. Knitted fabrics made with Dyneema® are ideal for protective apparel and sportswear due to their exceptional abrasion, cut, and tear resistance as well as being ultra-thin and comfortable.
Versatility for custom design
We understand that top performance doesn’t come easy – if it did, everyone would be doing it. But we’ve got the material science expertise to support brands on their journey to create lighter, stronger, and more resilient gear for life’s great adventures.
Whether they’re harnessing our Dyneema® Composite Fabrics or incorporating Dyneema® fiber into much-loved existing materials, Dyneema® elevates performance to unprecedented levels.
Supporting sustainable innovation
Versatility isn’t the full story, either. Outdoor gear designers are also drawn to Dyneema® because it’s the most sustainable high-performance fiber on the market.
Bio-based Dyneema® fiber used in consumer products has a 90% lower carbon footprint than generic HMPE fiber. And because articles made with Dyneema® have such excellent durability and reliability, they last longer and reduce material usage over time.
In addition, 100% of the electricity used in our manufacturing comes from renewable sources.
All these efforts add up to a fiber whose carbon footprint per unit of strength is lower than any other – a vital factor for brands looking to meet growing consumer demands for sustainable products.
Locus Gear dome tent
Harnessing the power of Dyneema® Composite Fabrics, Locus Gear founder Jotaro Yoshida created a waterproof, breathable, ultra-light dome tent that lightens the load on the open road and makes camping more pleasurable.
Vollebak puffer jacket
The puffer jacket is traditionally one of the weakest pieces of clothing – but with the power of Dyneema®, Vollebak has rebuilt it using the strongest fiber ever made. Built to withstand temperatures down to -40°C, it comes in one color: black. And one mode: tough.
Conroy Nachtigall jacket
Acclaimed technical designer Conroy Nactigall was commissioned by The Dyneema® Project to develop the ultimate alpine jacket – and the results didn’t disappoint. Lightweight, warm, and ultra-strong, the jacket has set new standards in high-performance apparel for mountain pursuits.
norda™ trail running shoe
Looking beyond the standard materials used by the footwear industry, norda™ developed an ultra-strong, durable, high-performance trail running shoe with a seamless upper made from Dyneema® fabric.
